| The Serious Sister Women of Phi Alpha Psi Sorority Incorporated |
Our sister organization, the sisters of Phi Alpha Psi Sorority, Inc. were
founded on February 6, 1991, at Virginia Commonwealth University in
Richmond, Virginia. The three young women who founded Phi Alpha
Psi, are seriously committed to the social, political, economic, cultural,
and historical "awakening" and upliftment of people of color especially
women.
Phi Alpha Psi Sorority, Inc. is an independent, inclusive, political
organization in the form of a sisterhood. Their purpose is to promote
unity, sisterhood, awareness, knowledge and pride of one's culture and
gender, through sociopolitical education throughout the population of
women of color on the undergraduate, graduate and professional
levels. The organization, therefore seeks serious sociopolitical
individuals who understand the importance of self-education as a
means of unifying and uplifting communities with the African Diaspora.
